Carpets tufting machines are an interesting application for developing a specially-designed motion control system.
The new issue of international magazine DRIVES & CONTROLS presents a case-history recently developed by CMZ together with our system integrators ARGETA and CMD in Turkey for SMM company manufacturing carpets: an international sinergy for the automation of a high-speed and heavy-duty automatic machine, which perfectly emulates the excellence and tradition of Turkish carpet-makers.
The control system of this 8-axis machine is based on CMZ Hardware:
■ new-generation SBD brushless servodrives
■ FCT640 motion controller Codesys-based
■ MMD brushless servomotors
in combination with a bespoke Software fully customized, specially designed to create carpets on a screen allowing the designers to specify all of the necessary tufting parameters.
