Half of electricity used in our company comes from solar energy.
Our photovoltaic system is a small jewel of self-production electricity, which we are particularly proud of.
We built it in 2011 and since then, from its first installation until 31 December 2021, it produced 1334 MWh of electricity allowing the reduction of 867 tons of CO2. The most of MWh produced are for self-consumption for our activities and the electrical equipment we use every day.
Thanks to some additions over the years, today the plant lists more than 450 panels for a total surface of about 720 square meters placed:
- on the roof covering CMZ plant
- on the shelter roofs, repairing the windows of our offices from direct sunlight during Summer months, allowing a reduction in the use of air conditioning units to spread fresh air
- in 3 solar trackers placed in the field next to our company, on which we installed a complete motion control system fully made of our devices: FCT200 (controller) + ISD (integrated stepless drive) + SVM (stand alone stepless drive) + HMI panel.
In 2023 we obtained ISO 14001:2015 certification for our Environmental Management System.
Our first rating ESG
As part of ISO 14001 implementation, during 2023 we raised the bar on environmental issue and further improved some performances reported by the Bureau Veritas during inspection.
By undergoing a specific new audit, we obtained our first rating on the status of compliance with sustainability criteria according to ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) principles.
The score achieved of 47 places CMZ in category BBB. It should be noted that, in reference to the 11 modules examined, in 9 out of 11 we performed better than Italian average while in 8 out of 11 better than the average of our competitors: a result encouraging us to vigorously continue on this journey.
